Engineering or Natural Sciences more competitive?

Is it harder to get into George R. Brown School of Engineering, or Wiess School of Natural Sciences, and if so, how much harder? If I go there how hard is it to switch between these schools? In particular for bioengineering.

I'm trying to decide which one to apply to, basically. Since I'm so undecided on my major, I just want to apply to the one that is easiest to get into.

It is not harder to get into either, You are admitted into Rice.

As for gaming the system, not going to work.

Antarius is right. Your admitted to Rice University, not a specific school.

on the application it asks what school i want to apply to.
I’m not trying to gain the system. I just don’t have a preference. So I might as well apply to the easier one, right?

but thank you. i’ll just apply to one

No. There is NO easier one. It doesn’t matter what you apply to (except music and architectur whose admissions are handled separately). Just be honest with what you want to do. The TOP applicants are admitted into Rice irrespective of major.
