Engineering: Physics vs Chemistry?

Hello,

I’ve taken chemistry during (not in high school but at some CC) my HS senior year. However, I’ve never taken Physics. I’m currently taking CHE my first-year first semester and it is not that difficult. My studying for this class consists of doing the HW and reading the chapter over and over. I predict at least a B-grade on this class. Sometimes I didn’t go to lectures because of poor habits (ex. sleeping in class, being distracted). I also didn’t go to Recitations (not a requirement BTW). Still manage to get high B’s on exams.

I have to take General Physics next semester, which all engineers have to take. I plan to read and study my sister’s HS physics book over the winter break. And use Khan Academy or Course Era. I hear it’s Cal based, IDK if being good at Cal means anything in terms of being successful in PHY. I will get an A in Cal I this semester (don’t to lectures for Cal as well).

BTW, I’m not failing any of my classes, 1st semester is smooth for me but 2nd will not because I don’t have as much preparation as I did for the classes in 1st semester. One thing for sure, I will commit to improve my study habits and time management. I’m pretty descent at reading real-life problems, ex. related rates or optimization calculus problems, and actually understand them. Same for CHE, I was able to read the problem and figure out # of moles needed to complete reaction. Again, I’m descent.

I have not idea what to expect for Physics!
