Engineering Placement test....

Is it hard? I'm a bit nervous...

The online one?

what schools require placement tests and how do we find out if we need one?

Yeah, the online math thing.

If you did AP Calculus, then nah, it's not hard. I only know because I accidentally encountered it before the email was sent and I had no intention in completing the test since it said "False Engineering Math Placement Exam" on top. So the time ran out and I only bothered to do 2 questions, so I guess I'll be expecting a phone call. But since I skimmed the other questions, they didn't seem so hard. It looks like AP Calculus. Also, if you got a 4 or higher on Calculus AB, then you don't have to take the online thing anyway. The online test doesn't count for credits anyway; its for evaluative purposes only.

Since I won't have my BC Calculus score before the deadline to take that test, I figured I'd do it. It's really no big deal - if you've been doing Calc and have been reviewing for either AB or BC, you shouldn't have a real problem taking this test.

when is the test?

It's whenever you want - just take it online when you have free time. Check your e-mail or regular mail for directions on where to go. The test is due by May 28th.

If we got a good enough ap score to not have to take it, how do we prove that to them...do we just ignore it? I know they'll get my ap report after this year's tests are scored, but thats months away.

Edit: I took the calc ab test last year and got a good enough score, its not like i have to wait for this year's tests to be scored to determine whether or not i have to take it...just thought i'd make that clearer.

IMPORTANT: If you received a score of 4 or higher on the AB Calc exam, a score of 3 or higher on the BC Calc exam, or have successfully completed the GCE A-Level program or IB-Higher Level program in math, it will not be necessary for you to take the on-line exam.

this is from the email....it says "successfully completed..IB-HL program in math"...what exactly does that mean? how do they know if ive finished the program "successfully" by may 28th?

What if I'm taking IBHL math right now but didn't take the exam (and instead took BC calc last week)?

I never got an email.

It was really easy. I have just taken Calc BC so I thought that it might be like that but it wasn't. It didn't even have any integration.
