If I do engineering at a school, can I still do a Pre-Med track?

For instance, if say I go to UMich for Computer Engineering, can I still take Bio/Chem/Orgo/etc. for my Pre med classes?

You can major in anything as a premed. However, you should check the requirements for Comp Eng at UMich since the engineering requirements usually overshadow premed requirements and making it harder to complete everything in 4 years.

note, too, that admission to med school is heavily dependent on GPA. Rumor has it they make a slight allowance for engineering majors, knowing it is harder than many others, but not enough of an allowance to put it on par with other majors.
Your biggest worry may not be graduating in 4 years. It might be finding enough time to do the extras (taking part in research) and the unwritten requirement (exposure to a medical setting) while doing time-consuming engineering classwork and labs.

If you are decided to go to medical school afterward, choosing an engineering major is not a very smart move. However, I know some ChemE and BioMedE students went to medical schools after college.

There may not be any basis to claim one major or the other has some leeway on GPA.

However there is some basis to claim that medical schools look for a little bit of diversity. So a computer engineer is slightly out of the norm and fits the diversity qualification.

If you read 2013-14 thread, there is a parent posting about his son who is doing CS. From what I am reading, it has not been a hindrance whatsoever.
