I know this has been discussed endless times but I'm hoping to get some advice on my particular situation. So I'm 24 have been in business for myself for about 5 years but am looking to get into something new. I want to make a positive impact on peoples lives and love the engineering aspect of life which is why this is the niche I hope to become involved in. I plan to attend school for 4 or 5 years and hope to graduate with a skillset which is in high demand and marketable. Money is also an issue upon graduation, I do want to be compensated well for the time and money I will be investing to obtain an education.

I would like to present 2 programs and receive feedback on them.

Honours BSc with Specialization in Biochemistry (biotechnology) / BASc in
Chemical Engineering (biotechnology)

B.A.Sc. in Biomedical Mechanical Engineering and B.Sc. in Computing Technology

I like the looks of both of these because of the double major. Number 1 can also be taken with a biomedical option. Unfortuantelly I have read a tonne of negative feedback regarding the bioengineering careers. Would I be better majoring in a more tradional engineering program such as mechanical, chemical or computer and minor in biology? I'm quite confused and hope someone has some constructive input on my dilemma.

Thank you for reading.
