Engineering Recommendations

Hi, I’m a high school senior applying to top colleges for engineering. I have five different recommendations: humanities, math, chemistry, physics, and arts. My guidance counselor informed me that she liked the humanities and chemistry teacher the best.
So I have two questions: Since I am majoring in engineering, which recommendations should I send? Some schools allow extra recommendations (not only 2), sometimes from an extra teacher and usually from an arts teacher or coach, should I send in extra recommendations? Will sending extra recommendations annoy the application reader?

Thank you!

First, take your GC’s word for it and send the 2 best ones. If a school only takes one, send Chem. If the school
specifically allows extras, I would say pick one more – I personally think for an engineering major you would want to send a math or physics; ask your GC which is best.

Some engineering school would request at least one LoR from a Math/Science teacher. So your GC’s suggestion would work too but you should check the requirement from each school you are going to apply.
