Engineering SAT II's

I found this while looking at UPenn's admission's website:
"Candidates to the School of Engineering and Applied Science are strongly encouraged to take both a Mathematics and Physics Subject Test."

The thing is, I haven't taken the Physics Subject test yet, and I don't plan to because i haven't taken physics till senior year.

I did take Biology though, is that good enough?

You can submit an application without an SAT II in Physics, however, it will no doubt hurt your chances. I will be honest when I say I doubt Penn takes the “school didn’t offer it, or didn’t offer it until senior year” excuse because they have consistently told applicants to take higher level courses, even if it means taking them at a local college if your school didn’t offer it.

You should ask around/wait for actual SEAS admits to answer your question, though I believe most of them will have taken the physics SAT when they were applying. Or, you can call Penn directly and ask a representative about your situation.

Ignore Limdelbarton. My son was accepted to Penn BME w/o physics Sat II. He did, however, have 5s on the APs, which Penn didn’t see until after he was accepted. Make sure your resume and essay reflect a genuine interest and ability in engineering, and then just do your best and let the chips fall where they may.

When did Penn engineering request SAT II Physics? Did it just start it? Anyone on cc know?

I never heard about this. Is it a new rule? I never took a physics subject test and my intro to mechanics class now is mostly engineers…
