engineering schedule

I am an A&S first year student who has a very high chance of transferring into the college of engineering. In fact I'd say I have an over 50% chance of transferring.

What are the required classes for engineering majors? Right now I'm a physics major so some stuff will probably overlap anyways. I'm taking the engineering math sequence. Do engineers take a special engineering physics sequence or do they take physics 1116-2217 like a regular physics major? (hopefully I will know for sure whether I want to transfer after one year). Does the college of engineering even offer the physics/chemistry/biology courses required? Also does it make a difference if I take intro Java at CoE vs CAS? My head hurts trying to think of this stuff so I have put off looking too closely into the details.

Is there a general resource for engineering majors somewhere similar to <a href="http://www.physics.cornell.edu/wp-content/uploads/courses.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.physics.cornell.edu/wp-content/uploads/courses.pdf</a> ?
I could not find one.

Also at this time I am leading towards electrical engineering but that might change. At this point I just want to know what courses all engineers have to take.

Math 1910, 1920, 2930, 2940
Physics 1112, 2213, 2214 (this is the regular version of the Honors 1116-2217 sequence)
ENGRI of your choosing ([Courses of Study 2009-2010](http://courses.cuinfo.cornell.edu/CoScourses.php?college=ENG&dept=Engineering+Common+Courses))
CS 1112 or 1110 (You will probably want to take 1110 as an ECE)
CHEM 2090 and possibly 2080 (depending on your major)
and possibly begin on your ENGRD requirements or Liberal Studies requirements.

[Cornell Engineering : Engineering Handbook 2009](http://www.engineering.cornell.edu/student-services/academic-advising/engineering-handbook/2009/index.cfm)

Engineering Handbook is pretty useful (flowchart <3). Since you’re interested in ECE, check out what courses are needed for ECE and look at course descriptions/syllabuses of different classes to see if you’re really interested (you can also check out req’ courses of other engi majors).

[School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Cornell University - ECE Undergraduate Handbook](http://www.ece.cornell.edu/ugradhndbk/index.cfm)

The flowchart is not very useful, and most people don’t follow it. So, be aware! Although I have to admit that it’s pretty well designed.

question about the chemistry requirements:

I got a 5 on the chem AP so I’ve been told to consider to skip out of “General Chemistry” and to place into “Honors General Chemistry.” The course descriptions on the chemistry page don’t seem to differentiate between the two. Is 2080 the regular course and 2090 the honors course?

2090 is the course for engineering students, while 2080 is for everyone. Also, 2090 or 2070 is the prereq for 2080.

The honor course is either 2150 or 2160. Check this: [Courses of Study 2009-2010](http://courses.cuinfo.cornell.edu/CoScourses.php?college=AS&dept=Chemistry+and+Chemical+Biology)

OP, I’d suggest you walk over the the Engineering quad and discussing all this with someone from the Enginnering school rather than aaking folks on the internet … you’re already at Cornell finding out the specific answers should be easy.
