So while I was in the process of opting out of the health insurance thing, I went to the Just the Facts/Student Center, and I surprisingly found out my schedule is made already, with locations/room numbers and even times (This was the surprising part). I ended up with Math 191 at 8:00 A.M. (Yikes!). I thought I made my schedule (choosing times, profs, etc.) after I got to Cornell. Anyone know what's up?

assuming you're a freshman, some colleges/majors pre-schedule you. i know a lot of engineers got most of their schedules already.

Do we have to follow that? because I have like two 8:00 A.M classes.

Well, I know for lectures, you can honestly just go to a different one if you're assigned one is too early for your or you don't like the professor. Attrition inevitably occurs as the year progresses, so its not going to be weird or anything. Ask other engineers which professors they like, or see which lectures your firends are going to and if it fits, go ahead and go to it. This is for Math courses in engineering, I'm not sure that this advice is applicable to every other course you may have on your schedule.

You can always add/drop into other times.

I have a similar question -
I got put into an intro to Eng. class that I didn't ask for
Is it possible to switch to another one during orientation?
thanks

Dude, just yamato gun it.

If you don't like your schedule, do add/drop. Don't worry about it now, you can pretty much change anything during/right after orientation. You talk to your adviser then too and they can help and answer your questions

The only thing you can't change will be your ENGRG 1050 class -- you're scheduled with your freshman advisor and you have to switch advisor to switch sections, so I recommend planning around the ENGRG 1050 class...
