I know that the college of engineering has a lot of scholarships, and if you got in early you'd know by mid January. I haven't heard from them for scholarships at all though. Has anyone found out if they've gotten an engineering scholarship? If so, please post your stats!

I am really curious about this too. Does anyone know?

My D also has not heard anything about scholarship from UIUC yet. But she is accepted to Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering which is under LAS, so I am not so sure if she is eligible.

College9596 where did you here mid January. RD notifications are 2/14, I would assume scholarships would be tenured after evaluating the entire class.

I was reading their engineering scholarships page and somewhere it said that the people who got in EA will get scholarships by mid January. If they don’t get any, they’ll be reevaluated in the regular applicant pool and will find out in mid April

College 9596 I found that info too. Since there hasn’t been talk here about anyone receiving scholarships yet…I hope that they haven’t dispersed any…and are waiting until closer to the end of the month. It is kind of a strange system. Why wouldn’t they wait until after the regular decision students were notified?

You mean this from their FAQ:

When will I be notified if I receive a scholarship?
Most of our merit‐based scholarships are offered a few weeks after admission notifications; it means that scholarship offers are sent by mid‐January and by mid‐March. For a handful of very restrictive scholarships, offers will be sent in late April. For need‐based scholarships, offers are sent Mid‐March thru April.

I am an early admit; it’s after mid‐January, but I have not heard anything yet. Will I get nothing?
In the second round of offers, all applicants are considered for scholarships, so it is still possible you may get an offer.

It is before mid‐March, and I want to know if I have a chance at getting a merit‐based scholarship?
Given the large volume of applicants, and variability of funds from one year to the other, it is impossible for us to give you a definite answer to that question. We kindly ask you to wait until mid‐March.

Due to the extreme Winter weather a couple weeks ago, everything may be delayed by a few days.

Billcsho, Thank You for those links. The verbiage appears to indicate that these notifications are sent via standard mail. Can someone confirm?

I believe so. For all the scholarship notices my D received from other schools so far, they were also sent by mail.

Just viewed an identical trend from 2013, author stated they called UIUC admin. and they stated merit scholarships were mailed out in March

Just received an Engineering scholarship via email, so I think the engineering scholarships are coming out now. I am out of state.

Congrats KimberlyNicole how much?

Thanks! And $15,000 non-renewable. I wasn’t expecting any money at all since I’m out-of-state so I was very excited to receive anything at all :)

Well you worked hard and had incredible stats. 15,000 non-refundable sounds like a sighing bonus to me. I think you deserved 10-12 thousand a year especially if you are a female in engineering. Good luck with your options.

Has anyone else heard?

D received 10K Computer Engineering EA. Great as we’re OOS. I think the UIUC engineering website mentions merit scholarships based on GPA/Test scores of up to 15K. D has a 35 ACT score.

@iulianc
Is it renewable?

It is a ECE Department Freshman Scholarship, but not specifying it is renewable, so I doubt
