Engineering School Chances??

I'll chance back(:

I was wondering what my chances of getting into Northeastern University in Boston, MA, Cornell, MIT, or any other Ivy Leagues were. I am currently a sophomore/junior in high school. (I've decided to graduate a year early in order to attend the Clarkson School- where high school students can graduate a year early and get one year of "College Life"- and credits before your actual college career starts.)

I have a 3.88 GPA and am almost certainly going to graduate Salutatorian. I have been very involved in extracurricular activities-

Freshman year- Jazz Band, Band, Chorus, Musical Cast, Fall Show Crew, Whiz Quiz (Kind of like High School Jeopardy), Key Club, Science Club, Mock Trial, Speech and Debate, Student Body President, Drama Club, National Jr. Honor Society President, and a member of the swim team.

Sophomore/Junior Year- Jazz Band, Mock Trial, Musical Cast, Fall Show Cast, Whiz Quiz, Speech and Debate Treasurer, Band, Select Choir Treasurer, Drama Club Treasurer, Science Club, Key Club Vice President, National Honor Society, and a member of the Volleyball Team.

Senior Year- Most likely same as Junior Year, but with higher titles (such as Key Club
President, Speech and Debate VP, etc.)

I have been playing piano for 10 years as well as Clarinet for 4 years.

I also ABSOLUTELY love math and I like English.

I'm an exceptional student in math, and understand it.

I am very dedicated to everything I do.

Before I graduate high school I will have completed Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2/Trigonometry, Pre Calculus, and Calculus.

I want to Major in Civil Engineering.

I have not yet taken the SAT or any Subject SAT's, but plan to this spring and next fall.

I expect they will be high because I have taken practice ones and have done pretty well on them. Thanks!!

You should like you have a very good shot! Test scores are important though so make sure you do well (2000+) and you’ll be in. As far as the other schools go you’ll probably need at least a 2200.

No one knows until scores are out.

But why list Clarinet and piano for X years, WHY? There won’t be a single place that cares… unless you won something big with it.

Good luck maintaining GPA and getting high scores.

By my reading, that’s very likely to make you a transfer student in the eyes of the other schools you mention. The Ivies don’t take very many transfer students. Clarkson’s website does not make it appear to be the kind of program that’s an exception to the general transfer stats, the way Deep Springs, for instance, is.

At schools that take more transfer students, financial aid may not be as good for transfers as for frosh.

I did a 3-year high school plan, a million years ago, and I personally would strongly recommend against it unless you have no other workable options.
