My son wants to apply to Penn's Engineering School Early Decision. He has taken the ACT w/writing, The SAT and 3 SAT IIs, Math II, Chemistry and Biology. He is interested in Bioengineering. Penn's website says the testing req is SAT and 2 Subject tests OR the ACT w/writing. He planned to send Penn All of his testing but the website also says that for the college of engineering it is strongly recommended that applicants submit Math II and Physics. As stated he has not taken the Physics SAT II test. Will this disqualify his application?? He did very well on the ACT Science section, will that negate the missing Physics test?? He also got 800's on both Chem and Biology. (Math II pending). Help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I am just a parent, not affiliated with Penn, but strongly recommended does not mean required, so it will not disqualify him. If he has taken AP Physics already, it probably will not matter.

He is currently taking AP physics, which is why he hasn’t been able to take the test. His high school sequence is such that you cannot take AP physics until Senior year because of all the prereqs. When I ask if it will disqualify him I really mean does anyone know if it will significantly hurt his chances.
