Engineering school: USC vs UW

Hi....

I really need help deciding what college I want to go to. I want to major in computer engineering and I cut down my schools to 2 but the choice is very hard. USC has been the school I have wanting to go to ever since I was little. But Iive in Washington which would mean that the tuition would be very expensive. And many of my friends and other people say that UW has a better engineering department than USC. So what I am asking Is some advice on, experience, anything, to help me pick my decision
Thank you and god bless

UW instate is a much smarter decision than USC out of state.
But the CSE department at UW is VERY competitive. Keep that in mind!

Wait do you mean the University of South Carolina or the University of Southern California?

If you mean Southern California, then I’d suggest you apply to both. I’ve heard that USC is generous with aid.

That is because of its reputation of being the University of Spoiled Children. The staff and faculty complained about how they were treated by the spoiled rich kids who don’t even work harder than an average student. USC decided to diversify its student body by accepting a mix of students and assisting them with a competitive aid package.

I’d recommend staying in state, both for finances, and because UW CSE is really a standout program. USC as a school might be regarded as more “prestigious” to some than UW (especially for those who live in washington and just think of UW as the school in their own backyard), but there are honestly only a handful of CSE departments across the nation that are better than UW’s.
