my daughter just found out that she was accepted! YAY! Unfortunately it was to the engineering school, which was not her first choice, and she is no longer interested in this field of educaiton. We have debated over calling the school to asking if there is a possibility of changing her major before enrolling. has anyone heard of situation similar to this, and was the student able to change their major? and if so, what school were they accepted into and which were they able to transfer into? thank you, congrats to all students accepted so far! GO SU!

i am only a prospective student, so you may want to take my advice with a grain of salt

i would definitely call the admissions office because that will give you a clear answer. however, my inkling is if your first choice was architecture, then i doubt that you will be able to transfer into that major (this is just my thought)… when i talked with a director in architecture, it appeared that very few, if any, students are allowed to transfer in because of the time issue (architecture uses every semester of the five years so it is hard to make us usually). However, if a lot of students turn down architecture at syracuse, then maybe you be put on a waiting list for architecture.

for any other major, i think it is a lot easier to transfer into (with maybe the exception of Sports Management because the class size is so small).

hope this helps
