I want to attend a school with a good reputation in engineering, most likely in the mechanical field. I would like it to be a smaller school with more personal attention from teachers and the like. Also I am very interested in participating in competitive sports if I can't make it to collegiate level, something to the extent of a club sport (soccer, volleyball are my favorites).
Schools I have visited and liked were Bucknell, Lehigh, and Lafayette. However with schools continuing to be more selective each year I don't know if I can get accepted to these schools I wish to attend. I am currently a sophomore turning junior next year, and ranked highly close to the top 5% of my high school class of over 800 students. I am all honors, some AP next year and more senior year, with an unweighted GPA of about 3.9. My SATs are not that hot, only around 1200s. Can I make it to the schools I like? Can anyone suggest other schools that might interest me? Help appreciated.
