Curious about student and/or parent perspectives of the engineering programs at LMU, either what you know or what you have heard. Anything about the professors, how rigorous a curriculum and the lab/engineering facilities would be great. If you know, how does it compare to the powerhouses like UCLA, USC, etc. I know Harvey Mudd and Caltech are in their own league, but does LMU offer a strong enough engineering program that prepares you for the real world (i.e., job market)?

Still looking for any comments on the science programs at LMU, particularly engineering. I know they are small but does anyone have any input on them per previous post? Thanks for taking time if you do!

Daughter just graduated Civil Environmental last year, she was also an athlete and in her senior year she worked for local company. She got a good education with professors that she actually knew as people, not just the cattle call lecuture with 100 other students. Sure a little bit bigger might be a little bit better, but she is happy and employed. Coming from an academic enviroment, I was pleased for the most part with what she relayed to me and what I’ve observed.

Good Luck!

Thanks for reply Timmy2000. I was trying to get insight into the professors and if the personal attention made up to some extent, for the size. There is a trade off no matter where you go. Sounds like she is doing well, congrats, and thanks again.

@timmy2000 If you are back around or anyone else that would like to throw in 2 cents…how were the LMU jobfairs/recruiting events? Do you feel like LMU has connections for job placement? Do good firms and a number of them come to campus recruiting for engineering? Does their career center do more than show you how to make a resume?
