I graduated Vandy engineering in 2010 (I’m now in their grad program), and I can honestly say that every engineering science major I knew either (a) started out in a specific engineering discipline and had a tough time (engineering science allows you to skip out on the “upper level” classes in a discipline, and instead take a variety of the lower-level classes in multiple engineering departments), or (b) were in A&S or Peabody and did engineering science as a second major. I can’t think of a single person who came in freshman year wanting that major…just some food for thought.

I graduated in 2009 and most of the Engineering Science majors I knew where as LittleLostFlute describes. However, I know a few who did start out on the track. It’s a good degree and as you can see from alumni, can get you a good job.

Actually I want to start up. Is it a good major to start up a new company ?
