<p>The Science General Requirements for Princeton SEAS require 2 semesters of Physics and a semester of Chemistry. </p>
<p>If a person scores a 5 on AP Chemistry, or 5s on AP Physics C Mech and EM, must he take Physics or Chemsitry in his first year? Does he have to take Physics or Chemsitry ever again?</p>
<p>I'm just wondering because I'm a prospective ORFE major and would like to see how my schedule is going to work out next year. It would be much easier if I were not required to take Physics and Chem again as a Freshman, and it would be even better if i were not required to take them at Princeton at all... though i might end up taking them later, i'd prefer not to be required to. </p>
<p>Hey I'm in the same boat. I believe you can use your AP credits toward advanced standing, which lets you graduate half a year or a year early. But I get the impression that most engineerings major just opt for a higher level courses. I would like somebody to confirm this?</p>
<p>you do not need to take chemistry again (unless youre chem-e) and I don't think that you need to take physics if you took the C test, although I am not exactly sure.</p>

<p>All candidates for the B.S.E. degree must fulfill the following general requirements in addition to the requirements of their department:</p>
<p>Science and Computer Courses </p>
<p>The following are the minimum B.S.E. first-year requirements (<strong>replaceable by advanced placement credits</strong>). If these courses are successfully completed in the first year, the balance of the required courses can usually be scheduled without any problems in the sophomore year to enable the engineering student to remain on track.</p>

2 terms of math
1 term of general chemistry
A student who does not complete this minimum set of requirements by the beginning of sophomore year will be required to transfer from B.S.E. to A.B. candidacy. </p>
<p>By the end of the sophomore year, all B.S.E. candidates must have completed the equivalent of:</p>
<p>4 semesters of mathematics (through MAT 202/204/218)
2 semesters of physics (through PHY 104/106)
1 semester of chemistry (either CHM 207 or 201)
1 semester of computer programming ( COS 126) </p>

<p>Based on this, it seems as though you can use your AP credit to satisfy these requirements. </p>
<p>I was quite confused when I first read over the engineering requirements. I'm pretty sure you cannot use AP credit to place out of EC/EM/LA/HA/SA requirements though. </p>
<p>So... I guess I don't have to take Physics or Chem ever again...(?)</p>
<p>Just need to make sure because I'm planning out a rough schedule right now, and not having to take Physics or Chem gives me a lot more options :)</p>
