Engineering: SMU v UT Austin

So here is my final decision challenge;
I’ve been accepted to both Southern Methodist and UT Austin for Biomedical Engineering. I haven’t heard on scholarships from UT, but as an Out of State student it is not highly likely. At SMU, I’d have a $100,000 scholarship over 4 years and be in the University Honors program. Unfortunately, SMU does not have a specific BME degree, just a specialization off of Electrical engineering, so i’d likely double major in or get a minor in biology. My decision is really going to come down to whether it’s better for me to be a top student at a school that doesn’t have exactly what I want but is smaller, i have a scholarship, and not as intense (SMU), or go to a school with exactly what I’m looking for (including a nanotechnology track) but is much more challenging, expensive, and I will be an average student (UT Austin).

I am planning on pursuing a PhD in the long run, so that also plays a huge role in terms of the value of my undergrad education (prestige, GPA I’ll be able to get, cost, etc).

Any advice is welcome. Thank You!
