For Rutgers engineer majors out there, how's college life for you? Are classes/studying taking up most of your time? Do you get to go out a lot on weekends or hang out with people from different schools? Do you get to meet people outside of engineering a lot? And is it mostly male students in your classes, dorms, etc.? Any women?

I enrolled in the school of engineering for next year and I'm kinda worried I won't have a life because I'll be studying 24/7 and on weekends. And that there won't be any girls in my classes.

Life is getting tougher; classes are getting more difficult. I’m in the spring semester of my sophomore year for ChemE. Freshman year is definitely a lot better in terms of workload, for me at least. Doing fun things on weekends is doable, but well-earned. I’ve found that if I have something I want to do on the weekend, I’ll put in more work during the week leading up to it. Then that fun is well-earned.

In terms of meeting people outside of my major, I meet many science majors in my general courses such as Calculus, Physics, and Orgo. Meeting people outside of classes is best done by doing extra-curriculars. The fall involvement fair is always at the beginning of the year in Voorhees Mall and is the best way to get a look at everything that is offered here at RU. (and there’s a lot offered!)

I probably am not as aware of women or the lack thereof because I am a female.
