S, rising junior, is very interested in attending an Engineering summer program, preferably with some research. What programs would you recommend?

RSI - VERY competitive @ MIT
MITES - Similar but for minorities
AP/EA Program at CMU in Pittsburgh
NASA SHARP or INSPIRE
Cornell Nanobiotech Internship

If you need links, let me know.

Thanks very much. I will check them out. Have you attended any of them? I was also wanting to know how the engineering programs at Stanford are.

Not as prestigious and definitely in the middle of nowhere, but the JEMS program at University of Idaho is quite good.

I would recommend the SAME Engineering/Construction Camps. I myself attended one this past summer, and it was one of the best weeks of my life. There is no so much research involved, but they have great engineering activities and opportunities to see things that most other people never get to. I know some of the links are inactive on the website now, but I would expect them to be functioning soon. The cost is anywhere from $250 plus half of your airfare to free. My post sponsored me for the whole bill. Here's the site: 2008 SAME Engineering and Construction Camps Feel free to PM me with any questions. :)
