Engineering supplement essay advice?

Hello everyone.

As the November 1 deadline approaches (although it is still quite far), the amount of ideas that I have for this essay remains at zero. To all you Cornell engineers out there, what did you do to come up with an idea?

Anyways, I have some questions about the essay itself. Ive scanned over conflicting internet sources that stated that you must focus on your engineering intererest/idea, while otherals say you must focus on why Cornell is right for you, while others say to include a plethora of other strange things...

So what do you suggest I do to acquire an idea? If you are interested, I plan on majoring in CS and my interests include programming, language/linguistics, physics and mathematics.
Thanks for taking the time to read about my problems! I really appreciate it

Sorry for the typos, it was typed on my phone

what’s the complete prompt? if it is same as last year, i think there is an ‘interest in engineering’ component too, right? i applied ED last year and I explained my interest in engineering. wrote about something i loved (building model airplanes) and i got in! I kept rewriting it about a zillion times, so it’s never too early to start that first draft.
