So I've been accepted into A&M's petroleum engineering program but I'm having second thoughts and thinking of going into chemical engineering instead due to not wanting to move around a ton as a petroleum engineer. (On top of my parents being able to get me a job much more easily as a chemical engineer where they work). So I was wondering how hard is it to switch from petroleum to chemical? I've heard they have similar course paths and switching between majors engineering wise isn't too difficult, but could someone with experience on these matters help inform me?

Also, UT being my first choice, but it'd be much harder to switch majors there, ontop of me getting money at tamu vs them, how is the life style at tamu? I've heard it's pretty conservative, but thats just what people say. Coming from an asian background, how is the asian community there? Are there nice places to eat, hang out, go and have fun at aside from on campus (and what is there to do on campus as well)?
