Hey, I am a prefrosh who was accepted to the engineering school. However, I would like to transfer to Arts & Sciences. Who should I contact about this and is this fairly easy to do?

You can call admissions, and they will direct to to the right person. It will be very easy to transfer.

Yep, I switched from Engineering to ArtSci the summer before my freshman year, and it was totally painless. I just emailed Admissions (Nanette Tarbouni, specifically, but I’m not sure that she works there anymore) and they just changed my registration for me. :)

Although, I ended up switching back into engineering this Christmas, lol…

wait all you did was call the admissions office and they direct to a person and that person officially transfers you to another school? It’s THAT easy?

actually the person I talked to at admissions just did the transfer herself after I confirmed that I wanted to be moved, so ya it wasn’t bad.

if you wait until later to transfer, e.g. when you’re declaring your major, there’s some paperwork and stuff involved… but even then it’s not a big deal. :)

Gotta love Wash U!

My D switched from engineering to arts & sci after first day of classes. Everything was final in just a couple days (took longer cuz of an intervening labor day weekend and having to wait for one signature). Very easy.

I switched a month ago from engineering to A&S.

Took roughly 5 days for them to get back to me. Just send admissions an E-mail and they’ll transfer your request to the right person.
