How hard it is to go to one of the top US med school after completing an undergrad degree in biomedical engineering from Canada? I am really interested in MD/pHD program. Right now I am in 4th semester of my undergrad degree and I wil be able to finish my undergraduate with overall GPA around 3.7-3.8. Right now I am very confused about the admission requirement and have the following questions in mind. I will really appreciate if you guys can help me out:

Q1: Is 3.7-3.8 GPA too low for top medical schools given that my engineering program is one of the best in Canada and is very intense?

Q2: Do they look at my overall undergrad GPA or the GPAs for the required courses (biology, chemistry etc....) for medical school admission? If they look at both, which one is of greater concern.

Q3: What range of MCAT score is "good enough"?

Q4: I have like a year of research experience in "engineering" fields? And I will be able to spend one and half year more in research. But should I continue working in engineering fields or should I go for some clinical/medical experience? ......

Q5: Beside research experience.... do i need lots of ECs? I had lots of ECs in high school. But not that much in university (1-2 ..). Should I go for more ECs?

Q6: Does high school stats (such as AP exams, ECs) count?

Thanks in advance....
