its about time for me to apply for college....i am planning to go for engineering but lately i feel like i want to be a doctor.....can i take MCAT with a major in engineering??? or do i have to go for pre-med itself to get into a med school???

Take the medical school required courses, and you'll be fine. I have a very good family friend who majored in Electrical Engineering at UMich, and then got into BU Medical School after his bachelors. He is now an orthopedic surgeon, so it obviously didn't hold him back to much.

Most engineers go engineering b/c it's good $$$ and they're tired of grinding after 4+yrs of engineering; plus engineering GPAs on avg are lower than the traditional "pre-med" majors which makes the acceptance to med school that much harder.
