AP Courses: 7 scores (Biology, Psych, Macroeconomics, US History, Calculus AB, Physics + Physics) </p>
<p>Tons of Volunteering, extra curricular, and 2 jobs
I have 2 recommendations I will send too. </p>
<p>Currently I am an undergraduate at Loyola University Chicago </p>
<p>Major: Physics with engineering
GPA: Cumulative= 3.779 Science=3.63 </p>
<p>First semester I took:
General PHysics Mechanics (A-) with lab (B+), General Chemistry with Lab (A-), Theology (A), Ethics (A), and First year seminar</p>
<p>This semester I am taking:
General Chemistry with lab, Sociology, Calculus II, University Writing </p>
<p>You should consider it at this point somewhat of a reach. You have the first semester grades needed and will have course work needed for a successful transfer. The issue is your high school record. When applying for transfer into sophomore year, high school record is important and if you likely would not have been admitted freshman year based on that record, you face an uphill battle to get admitted. Your high school GPA and test score indicate you likely would have been rejected freshman year for engineering if you had applied. Note, if you wait and apply for admission into junior year, high school record is not considered and they rely on college grades. Nevertheless, you still have a fairly decent chance because your college record is good and your high school record was only somewhat into the rejection range. Note this all assumes that you had a 4 or 5 on the Calculus AP test. To be allowed to transfer into sophomore year you must complete both Calc I and Calc II. UIUC gives AP credit for Calc AB only for a 4 or 5 and thus if less than that you will not have the required math course to transfer.</p>
