Engineering Transfer recommendation letters

I am planning to apply for transfer into engineering schools of Cornell, Penn, and Duke.
I need to submit 2 recommendation letters from my professors. I already have one from my physics professor, and for the other recommendation is it okay to ask an Arts professor (who would know me very well) for a recommendation? Or does it have to be from professors of math, science, engineering?

Common app instructor evaluation says it has to be from a professor who has TAUGHT me a course, but is it okay to ask a professor who is teaching me a course this term but has not taught me previously? (which means for the academic performance section, he would not be able to provide much information)

You need to go to the websites of those 3 schools and read their specific instructions on transfer LORs, and be sure to check to see if they have additional requirements for engineering. If they don’t, then you use the CA instructions, and it can be 2 profs/TAs from ANY subject areas, so the Art prof is fine.

It is OK to have a current prof send ann LOR, however, the downside is that their evaluation may not be as strong as someone who has known you longer.

Thanks! I really appreciate your answer
