Hey ya'll! I'm currently enrolled in a CCC here in the SoCal area. I am currently studying mechanical engineering and was looking to transfer to Cal Poly SLO. My main concern is the math requirements. I'm taking Algebra, and geometry with a couple of other gen. ed. classes. I looked into Cal Polys transfer requirements of Calculus I-IV AND Stats. So basically I need four years just to get my math over with. Should I look into going out of state (Colorado state or Oregon state)? Or should I just stick it out for the four years and go to Cal Poly.

You should be taking Math, Physics, Bio and/or Chem, and any Engineering classes you can. Taking all these courses and keeping a GPA up above 3.5 is a good start if you want to get in to Cal Poly. Take math in summer and even online if you need to move it along. After a semester that has mostly major prep you will have a better idea of what kind of schools you should be looking in to.
