Do you think I'll have more chances of getting accepted to certain engineering majors over others? maybe due to higher demand in certain engineering majors.

shameless bump

This is frustrating...
mrnova I know you are junior in engineering. What do you think?

You shouldn't pick a major based on how hard you think it will be to get in...

I refering to majors inside the engineering depratment. There are alot of engineering majors that are very related. It's not like I asking about whether I should apply to CALS or engineering.
BTW, I heard that cliche a million times and unfortunately in REAL life you have to make some compromise if you know it will better your chances.

yeah but the point is that often it won't better your chances of acceptance at cornell. However in your case you may be correct. Either way, evidently nobody who has read this knows whether or not they do admissions by major.

Then I'll just apply to the major of my choice. thanks for the reply.

NJCC, you might want to check this page out:

Specifically, here are the requirements for major affiliation:

Maybe the hardest majors to affiliate with are also the hardest to transfer into? Engineering Physics would technically be the hardest than and Biological (closely followed by Civil and Environmental) would be technically the easiest as far as affliation goes.

yeah, that definitely helps. I appreciate your help.
