engineering, U-Mich or Columbia

I want to major in engineering in college and I know U-Mich definitely has an amazing engineering program, top 10 I would say for sure. I think I have a good change getting in and I'm gonna do ER

But later I found SEAS in columbia and I don't know which is better. CU is definitely better than U-M and has a higher reputation. But SEAS? Heard that the acceptance as twice as that of CC. Does that mean it's not as good as U-M?

I think I'm justing looking for a college which has the engineering program slightly better than U-M that I can apply and also have a good change getting in. thinking about U-PENN and Cornell

MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and Berkeley are all that come to mind for engineering in general (some others have better programs in specific fields).

Definitely not true.

the seas acceptance rate is higher than CCs but the applicant pool is self-selecting, so it’s equally difficult to get into either (SEAS has higher SAT scores and high school GPAs than students in CC). The quality of student at seas is better than at U-M, but U-M is a better engineering school in the traditional sense. Seas opens up doors for engineering but many students, opt to work in finance, law, international development, medicine out of choice. And columbia does excellently at placing its students in these fields, esp. engineers on wall street.

What is ER? I know IE and OR but not ER.
