Engineering- UBC vs McGill

Accepted to both. 10,000 scholarship at UBC. But can afford both
I’m an international student. Male
Live in Bahrain.
Doing A-Levels (Maths, physics and economics)
Probably end up Mech Eng, but UBC’s bio-mech looks very interesting
Pros and cons at each if anyone has the time, much appreciated.

Pros UBC:
Scholarship
Flexibility of my course
Vancouver is BEAUT
Have friends there already

Pros McGill:
Higher ranked by most studies (by 20 ranks in some)
Better reputation

Have I missed anything? What else should I consider?
Where should I go?
Thanks a ton

I’m biased towards UBC.
Out of curiosity, what were your predicted A level grades and test scores? I’m applying to UBC this year, so the info would really help me.

Which studies rank engineering at McGill higher? I’ve only seen ones that rank them in the same tier or have UBC ranked higher. I’d go with UBC.

@DarkEclipse
Predicted 3 A’s.
7 A*s, 3A’s at GCSE
ABBD at AS level (I ■■■■■■ up)
SAT1 2120 (800 maths, 680 CR and 640 W)
But UBC is unconditional offer. Just need to pass, so 3 C’s (I reckon my essays were alright)
McGill require me to maintain my grades. Good luck to you bro :))

Basc this website. But my guidance counselor said they were pretty much indistinguishable. Dad says Vancouver has better job prospects since McGill is in a french speaking territory.

Probably go to UBC. Scholarship is nice

Thank you for your comments.

The mech engineering rankings you quote has McGill at 48 and UBC at 51-100, so pretty much indistinguishable. Many/most other subjects have UBC ranked higher. I agree with your GC and your father.

Thanks for the info Turvina. Good luck to you as well!

Mcgill. Montreal is the best place to be
