Engineering: UCLA or Cal Poly

come to ucla unless you get a full ride at slo. i know slo is a good engineering school, but so is ucla.

I would choose UCLA over Cal Poly SLO and, for that matter, any other Cal State.

xtx,

Many, if not most, people will change majors at least once in their life. Most Americans will change careers many times. Now, while a SLO degree isn't necessarily a bad one, it's not going to open as many doors as easily as a UCLA degree. The UCLA degree, while perhaps less "practical," will give you the training you'll need to succeed in a variety of fields.

Don't think that your career goals won't change. They probably will.

UCLA is a no-brainer.

I used to go out with this guy graduate from UCLA EE degree Summa Cum Laude. But he got hired in to work at a company and stalled there as an engineer. He eventually became a lawyer. I went to Cal Poly Pomona and am still working as an engineer. Not sure if this is an accomplishment over being a lawyer but the moral of the story is, it's not where you get your degree especially engineering.
OT, Cal Poly Pomona, let me switched from Accounting to EE with no problem.
The only problem is Cal Poly is not well known out of the local area.
