Hey guys.. I'm really at a confusing point right now. I'm not sure if I should become an engineering major or an accounting major. I plan on getting a business graduate degree no matter what, but I can't pick between the undergraduate majors. Is it worth going into engineering and then getting a business masters, or is it more practical to stick with business all the way? Also, what type of work does an engineer with an mba get involved in? (If I became an accounting major I'd go for my CPA)

Yes, there are some pretty successful engineers-gone-businessmen, but I'm not in it for the money. I like both fields.. and I'm thinking that it may be a good choice to get a BS in engineering, and then go on to get an MBA in finance or something.

definately, I am going to do EE with either a minor or double major in something else, like econ. then i'll try to goto business schoool.. i dont think i want to be an engineer forever, but i like math and science enough to major in it.

there's a program at upenn called the jerome fisher program in management and technology that's a joint degree program - so you get both an engineering degree from the school of engineering and applied science, and also a business degree from wharton. that might be something to look into ... at the very least, it buys you time until you have to make a decision!

i would definately recommend the engineering business track. thats what im doing now. the engineering really gives you a solid analytical thought process which helps in the business world.
