Ever wonder what type of research is available for undergraduate engineers at UF? The below e-mail just came out from Mike Nazareth, the Director of Graduate Recruiting and Director of Undergraduate Research. Follow the attached link to see which research projects are available (by major) and the requirements. Keep in mind, that you’re not limited by major. Lots of biomedical engineering students get involved in MAE (Mechanical and Aerospace) research projects, just like a math major may get involved in an industrial engineering research project.
Dear Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering Undergraduate Student:
I am happy to report that we have assembled the first comprehensive database of undergraduate research projects for the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. We currently have more than 105 projects posted by department spanning 85 engineering faculty. The projects all contain the necessary information you desire such as Project Title, Project Description, Department, Faculty Mentor, Ph.D. Student Mentor(s), Terms Available, Desired Student Level, Prerequisites, Credit, Stipend, Application Requirements & Process, Application Deadlines and Website. Please review the new listings which will be updated regularly going forward on our new website:
https://www.eng.ufl.edu/graduate/about-us/undergraduate-research/
Additionally you will notice detailed information on the following:
· HWCOE Undergraduate Research Application (apply here first)
· 2016-17 Research Projects
· EGN 4912, Engineering Undergraduate Research (course registration for 0-3 credits required for all HWCOE undergraduates participating in undergraduate research)
· Workshops and Seminars (some fall events are now listed, others are being finalized)
· University Scholars Program
I will send a few regular emails and updates every term regarding student participation in undergraduate research.
Sincerely,
Mike
