<p>I am going to attempt transferring into Washington University. I already filled out the supplement, but being an idiot, I chose Engineering and Natural Science as my school instead of the usual Arts and Sciences. I am guessing the Engineering school is ridiculously harder to get into. Someone, please do me the honor of confirming or denying my prediction.</p>
<p>In addition, can I just E-mail them to change my school? They specifically ask for me to fax the supplement with changes... however, the process seems very troublesome.</p>
<p>It’s just as easy (or difficult, as the case may be) to get into one school as it is to get into the other. That’s because it’s very easy to switch schools once you are accepted into the university. Regardless, you should still inform the admissions office that you made a mistake. I would email them first since your mistake is pretty trivial, but I would be prepared to fax them in case they do follow through with that policy.</p>
<p>While I think RaVNzCRoFT has excellent advice for freshman applicants (that each school is equally challenging to get into), I believe it is not exactly true for transfer students. As a transfer student into engineering, you will be expected to already have completed at least introductory classes (chemistry, physics, calculus, depending on your major) in order to be able to complete your degree in a reasonable amount of time. If this does not apply to you, and especially if you don’t even intend to pursue an engineering degree, I would recommend contacting the admissions department to switch your preference.</p>
