Engineering vs Medicine

I want to major in Mechanical Engineering, but recently Medicine is becoming more attractive to me. I always was a great math student - and I'm doing great in Physics and computer programming.

On the flip side I had a C in Biology - I moved twice and never got a textbook, so that's probably why. I remember it was just memorization, mostly out of the textbook, rather than the more math oriented Physics.

My GPAs are as follow: (WEIGHTED)

9th: 3.60 (family moved mid semester) (A in math, C in bio)
10th: 3.88 (moved mid semester) (B in math, B in chem)
11th: 4.2 (didn't move at all) (A in math, A in physics)

SAT score: 1840 (I got it today, and I'm disappointed. I plan to retake it.)

So: What schools for Engineering or Medicine am I qualified for? I was thinking stuff like Cal Poly Pomona or SLO maybe, but I'm not sure. I live in Cali. UC schools would be nice too - but I'm unsure if I would be able to make it.

You do not need to choose between MechEng and Medicine as Medicine is not an undergraduate major. MechEng is a great undergrad major for Pre-Med, especially if you are interested in surgery. We were told this at many undergrad schools when folks talked about what their graduates go on to do after college. You would want to do some research at colleges you are pursuing to see if you could fulfill the pre-med requirements while doing a major in MechEng. Doctors have undergrad majors in all kinds of things!
