When applying to top schools' engineering departments, would it look bad if I haven't taken any AP Sciences until my senior year? Will that affect admission? In terms of math, I will be taking Linear Algebra my senior year, and I have taken all the AP social sciences/englishes.... SAT=2330 with Math II = 800 and History = 800. I just recently found my interest in engineering/computer science stuff....

Thanks

That is not a problem as long as you are ready to start with Calculus when you enter college. While it is nice to have AP credit going in, it is not a requirement for completing an engineering program in 4 years.

To be ready to enter an engineering degree program and finish in 8 semesters, you generally need the following preparation at a minimum:

Readiness to enter freshman calculus (looks you are way beyond that if you are already in linear algebra, which is usually taken after completing calculus – AP calculus BC is accepted to fulfill freshman calculus at many colleges).

High school physics as preparation for college physics. (AP would be a bonus, though even AP physics C is not always accepted for college credit here.)

High school chemistry as preparation for college chemistry. (AP would be a bonus.)

Readiness to enter non-remedial English composition courses as required by the college. (AP English may be accepted to fulfill some of the English composition requirements.)

Some engineering schools or divisions prefer to see SAT subject tests in math (preferably level 2, which you have) and a science.

Yea man I think you’ll definitely be fine. I took ap chem and physics b senior year and those were my first two sciences. I didn’t really apply to top of the top engineering schools but gatech accepted me. Plus you’re taking linear algebra, you’ll be chill
