Engineering

how is engineering at trinity? What is the placement rate to the top schools like MIT/Stanford for graduate school? Do the graduates usually work or go to grad school? How tough is it to get research with professors? Does the campus help in finding internships?
lots of questions . I know but thought it would be good to know if i get in.

Yes i also want to hear about enginering in trinity. Any related information is welcome.

Hi mohak and exist. Great that you are interested in engineering. I am a sophomore electrical engineering major here at Trinity. Engineering is a pretty robust program I would say, the only thing is that it is kind of small. But the professors I have encountered have been quite good. The program is fairly rigorous but if you come out with a good gpa you get into good schools. I have friends who have gotten into yale, columbia, cornell and stanford etc. The professors here also maintain sound connections with big schools which allows for more networking and ease in getting into them. From what I see it seems like there is just about equal fraction of people pursuing grad school or joining work.

As far as research is concerned, trinity is quite unique in this regard since it is one of the few small schools that provide intensive summer research opportunities. There are various grants that make this possible and a large number of students do research over summer in bio, chem, neuroscience and most certainly engineering. I was part of a gateway program, ISP my freshman year and did research in the comp sci dept on cryptography. I have a friend who did research on Digital signal processing in the engr department and there are loads of such examples. This summer I will be doing research with robotics. We have a good robotics program where students join the robot team to do independent study on robotics and participate in competitions in michigan and in trinity itself which hosts the worlds largest annual firefighting competition with teams from around the globe participating.

Well that was an elaborate reply but this is a gist of the things that are going on here at this time. I hope this helps!
