are there core courses which engineering students must take in a set year? ex. 2 semesters of physics and 1 semester of chem during freshman year

Hey.
It depends on what kind of engineering you are doing... some courses are recommended

when i looked at their sample curriculum, every single one had at least one term of chem and one term of physics. i hate chemistry so much... even mechanical engineering has it, whats up with that?

2x physics and lab, 2x chem and lab, math 104 i think

for everything, mike?

No... I think for all, you take 2x physics (no lab, I think they got rid of them starting next year) and 2x chem&lab only for MSE/CBE/BE the rest is 1x chem.

For math, MSE/CBE/BE/MEAM go up to 241 while SSE/EE go to 240 and CSE go to 114 but 2 semester of discrete math.

what about w/ ap tests - do I still not have to take a physics lab?

Yes.. well for BE atleast. Each department has its own standards, but I think they got rid of the Physics labs in general (they are soo tedious). Unless you are premed ofcourse, in which case you need to take the labs.

CSE has no chem.. we have math up to 114, then 2 CSE math courses (discrete math).. then 2 math electives.. you also have 2 physics, and the labs aren't required, but I think they'll let you use the labs for an extra credit. Beyond that we have a ton of CSE classes, and such
