My school definitely doesn’t inflate grades; the math in AP Calc is completely different from SAT math… so that’s not a valid argument. I worked extremely hard to get an A+ in AP Calc - and I love math, so that’s insulting.

and a 630 SAT Math and a 31 ACT math really isn’t that bad… yeah it’s not great, but it’s not bad…and NEU’s middle 50 % for SAT Math is 630 - 710 …

31 Math ACT = 710 SAT …

you are right its a different kind of math. I am not trying to insult you i am just saying the SAT looks for more ways to trick you then a math class. and yea engineering is full of tricky soulutions you have to figure out. They really look deeply into your math score because not only does it show your math skills and your logic skills. The other thing is i go to a school where out of 100 people taking AP calc. only one person did not get a 5… they got a 4 becuase their calculator ran out of batteries, and I had a 75 in the class. So thats why they cant make their descion on just grades because some schools grade 100times harder then others. 630 is still the lower end of the middle 50. if you want engineering you have to shoot for the higher end.

i think people think schools look at GPA more then they really do. not a single person in my entire school has a 4.0 yet plenty of people get into top schools. It really depends on your school profile.
