What are the best universities in the Southeast U.S. for undergraduate engineering?

Georgia Tech is far and away the best. Others to consider would be Florida, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Tennessee… There really aren’t a ton of top engineering schools in that area.

Check out Clemson as well.

^ Good call. I guess NC State ought to be thrown in there too.

I was at an engineering conference in Toronto this past April and it seems that U-Toronto and Waterloo universities are the top two engineering schools in Canada.

It seems like that have a pretty good rivalry going on about which is the better school too.

University of Toronto, Waterloo, and McGill are the only ones that I know for sure are good schools. Other than that, I don’t know much about Canadian universities.

I would concur with GLOBAL and boneh3ad but perhaps replace McGill with UBC or UAlberta. From what I understand, McGill is stronger in arts/sciences than engineering - though still probably a decent choice.

@OP: GT, UF, NC State, Clemson. In that order.

Northern technical Institute of Alberta is good.

How are we discussing Candian schools when the subject is southeastern US schools? Perhaps the 2nd half of this thread should be broken out into a new thread…

^^ It’s Northern Alberta Institute of Technology…

Gee, ken285, it sounds like we could use a moderator! ;-)
