How is Vanderbilt's engineering school? I know that they aren't the best, but how are they in the field of biomed engineering? Does having a top notch medical school help? Thanks.

I don't know about bio med specifically but i know Vandy Eng is in the 30's. And it probably does help that Vandy has 15(?)th med school

I was also wondering about vanderbilt's biomed engineering program. Right now I'm deciding between The University of Texas at Austin and Vanderbilt. Any thoughts?

Although S switched to College of A&S after first year, he began in engineering. We met the dept. chair of biomedical on a campus visit and I was very impressed. Everything I read about Vandy engineering leads me to believe this is their top department. Very well regarded nationwide (ranked by USNWR if I remember correctly).

if you don't mind me asking, what made him swtich to A&S?

Even before he started at Vandy, he thought he might like economics. When he tied for the top score on the first test given to about 400 students, he was hooked on econ and is now pursuing that as part of a double major with mathematics.

i got accepted to engieering school to, is it possible for me to change my major after first year? do i have to keep 4.0 GPA in order to to change major?

It's definitely a difficult program.

BME is the engineering school's strongest program. it was in the top twenty in the US news rankings this year, I believe.
