So I was just wondering is it possible for engineers to get business internships? I was thinking of trying to apply for a job in a pharmaceutical/biotech venture capital, but most of the jobs seemed business oriented. How would an engineer (with a research background) emphasis strengths fora business internship?

Oh of course I am also applying for those, but the business side of medical engineering is also an interest of mine I thought would be worth pursuing outside of the academic area.

It depends on where you want to get in. Your math and analytical skills make it possible to get to finance or operations if you have any classes in that area. You really have to look at what skills they are looking for and whether you have them.

You can twist your resume and say you are trying to be a biomedical engineer. Honestly, I think that is the ONLY way you can get into a medical business internship. They’re not gonna know your true intentions if you don’t go through with it.
