First of all, I absolutely love math and I figure business would be the best path for me, especially in the finance area. My dad also does risk analysis and I find that kind of stuff very interesting. I'm choosing to attend UC Berkeley engineering over UMich and Tepper (carnegie mellon) because I thought it would provide a better technical background. I'll be majoring in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, and I'll be sure to take a lot of math, statistics, economics, finance, and programming classes.

So I just have a few questions. How are Berkeley engineers looked upon by employers at major firms and banks (JP Morgan, citigroup, etc.)? Also, how are Berkeley engineers looked upon by the top MBA schools (I know this probably has more to do with the kind of job I get after my undergrad degree)? With such a skillset (math, programming, finance, statistics, economics), and a strong passion for math (i love programming too), what kind of jobs should I consider that also pays well?

Any help is appreciated.
