Engineers on Cook

So I'm an engineer for the class of 2017 and there's a possibility I might live on Cook (sigh)...can anyone tell me what it would be like? I'm really upset but I'm trying to look at the positive.

it would suck ass. most of your classes aren’t even there and i heard cook is like the worst place to live out of all the areas. I heard it is physically and socially isolated from the rest. best of luck. thank god i was placed into busch as a fellow engineer.

you’re basically commuting if you’re on cook. lmao. btw, have fun with the farm animals.

So you are a freshman? Are all your classes going to be on Busch?

It’s 2 semesters; it will be fine once you figure out the buses.

My son liked the dining hall on Cook.

From a convenience standpoint, Cook is the worst place for an engineer to live since most of you classes are going to be on Busch. You will become well acquainted with the REXB, the bus which runs from Cook/Douglass to Busch. The bus is surprisingly fast outside of rush hour, so honestly it is not that bad. I know many engineers who live on Cook and do the trek to Busch. I lived on Busch as an engineer but had two classes on Douglass, so I did the same thing.

Disregarding the logistics of getting to class, Cook is a really nice place to live. Of all the campuses, I would say it feels most like what you expect a college campus to be like. There are some nice open grassy areas where people play sports or just sunbathe. People read and relax at Passion Puddle. The dining hall (Neilson) is very good. The Douglass Campus Center allows you to get food for meal swipes, which is a nice bonus.

Living on Cook is fine. Plenty of parties. You might smell the horses on windy days if you live in Voorhees or Perry but people who bash Cook have normally never been there.

I liked cook, I lived there and worse I lived in starky so it was a 15 minute walk to even get to a bus stop that went to busch. So yeah, I had to leave for class 30-40 minutes early but besides that it was good. People were friendly and the place was pretty. I like their dining hall better and the gym was closer, plus when I lived on busch I found it sort of deary. Cook is easy to fall in love with when you get over the commute.
