Enginering GPA

I know I see the stat on here all the time about the 2.9 average. Is that just first year or overall?

Also I believe I heard a GSI talking about how GPAs generally trend upward as you progress through your classes. Is that correct or am I mistaken?

Finally, I one of these threads awhile ago someone posted the GPA rankings for all the cum lade honors stuff. I forget where that was so could someone repost that or show me a link?

[url=<a href=“http://www.engin.umich.edu/bulletin/rules/grades.html]Michigan”>http://www.engin.umich.edu/bulletin/rules/grades.html]Michigan Engineering | Scholastic Standing/url

In 400-level classes, the curve is generally a little higher than it is in 200-level classes. The quoted 2.9 average I believe refers to the overall average GPA, or average GPA at graduation, however it seems to me that the actual average GPA is probably higher to that, so I would believe that it applies only to first year if someone came and said such.

no White Male Honors… bummer, lol

The average should be around 2.9-3.0 and that’s overall. My personal gpa is sloping downwards during my career here (though I hope to change it with this semester) and I know people that are the same and that are the opposite. I think it really depends on what courses you take and when.

ok thanks. My GSI made it sound like it was a reoccuring trend
