English 101 Courses

Hi!
I was wondering if there was any difference between the different English 101 classes. If so, where do I find the course descriptions? I feel like I scoured the site, but I haven't found anything.
If all the freshman classes are the same, is there are particular English prof. I should take from?
Thanks!

I cannot answer the question about the prof, but all English 101 sections are the same in principle. Obviously any given professor will bring their own subtle or even not so subtle differences, but the description and purpose is the same for all. You can find descriptions for all classes in the following:

http://www.tulane.edu/~ntuc/catalog_pages/catalog.pdf</a></p>

English 101 is at the bottom of page 322.

The other, and better way probably, is to use the class scheduler and bring up any of the sections of this English class. [Tulane University - Class Schedule](http://classschedule.tulane.edu/flex/ClassSchedule.html) If you the click on the course number, ENGL1010-XX in this case, a new window will open that has the description, and a link to the web version of the most current catalog. The link to the catalog I gave you is a year or so old, but I cannot find a pdf version of the 2010-2011 that is the web version I just referenced, [Tulane University - 2010-2011 Catalog](http://catalog.tulane.edu/index.php?catoid=37)

Cool, thank you!

I took an Honors Section with Dr. Foy. She teaches both honors and regular sections. She is a very fair/forgiving professor and wants everyone to get A’s. Not to mention she is hysterical.

A 4 or 5 on the AP language or Lit exam satisfies the credit for English 101. I would guess this applies to many Tulane students.

I don’t really mind taking the class but is there a way to test out of it? All the classes at my school were honors classes. We did not have AP

I don’t believe there is a way to test out other than the AP test.

A 5 or higher on an IB tests works as well.

You don’t have to take an AP class to take the AP test.

I was going to mention that, about taking the AP test, but it is too late, right? Or is there another before classes start? I was under the impression they are only once a year, but I never looked into it.
