English at College

I am from India, studying under the British system of education

My GPA, according to " <a href="http://www.cie.org.uk/docs/recogniti...or%20IGCSE.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.cie.org.uk/docs/recogniti...or%20IGCSE.pdf</a> " is 3.82

I am presently studying the following GCE A-level subjects (similar to the American APs)-
Economics (CIE)
Pure Mathematics with Statistics(CIE)
Psychology (CIE)
Further Mathematics ( Edexcel- at least till AS-level- as a private candidate as the course isn't available at my school)

I was wondering if there are colleges in the US which allow students to study English in spite of not having studied it at A-level.

I am willing to take the SAT 2 Literature test and TOEFL.

At most US colleges and universities you can study anything you wish to study. Yes, there are requirements for major fields, but typically there are distribution requirements also that actually FORCE you to take classes outside of your chosen field. I think you need to read up on the difference between the British system, where one specializes early and applies to a specific course of study, and the US system.
