<p>I know Purdue is known for its engineering and more science focused majors and schools, but my interests are English, media and communications. I'm look at Syracuse, Northwestern, NYU, Boston University and University of Chicago. However, I'm from Indiana, and these other universities are very expensive. I come from a Purdue family and everyone wants me to attend. The lower price point compared to my other top choices if very appealing. SO, how does Purdue stack up to my other interests, and is their English department of good quality?</p>
<p>Not sure about the English department in general but I’m pretty sure it’s quite good. The main reason I’m saying this is because of the OWL (Online Writing Lab) which is hosted by Purdue. Almost everyone uses the OWL when it comes to writing an essay, etc. My professors at JWU even know about OWL and so do my high school English teachers.</p>
